Stripped Concert Series presented by Arc 2 Intertainment.
“Stripped” is a set of live, unplugged concerts that take place year round in chic, intimate venues around Vancouver. Stripped concerts feature different forms of creative talent, from dance, to art, to fashion runway, all set against a powerful musical performances.
Each year a new show is created; the latest “Stripped 2007” delves into the theme of pop culture with the three concerts tracing the evolution of music. The first event kicks back with Blues and R&B, the second stars classic Rock and Roll and the third gets into the groove with Pop Music.
VOLUME ELEVEN: BLUES
Stripped 2007 delves into the theme of The Revolution of Pop Culture. The first installment brings you back to the roots of contemporary music with live gospel, jazz, blues and R&B, while dancers explore various urban styles, including hip hop and swing. ‘Blues’ features Jena Fair, Tamara Rhodes and Jessi Nicholson of Soul Sistas.
VOLUME TWELVE: GIRLS ROCK
As the evolution continues, a harder, grittier sound explodes on to the stage in a classic downtown venue. The guitar goads the audience into a frenzy as models strut the walk in out-of-the-ordinary urban grunge.
VOLUME THIRTEEN: POP
Summer sun heats up the white hot tempo, from disco to hip hop, in this outside extravaganza. A veritable mardi gras, this colourful display by the water features performance art, fashion and dance. |
